And so it begins...

It's Day 1...we are in full lockdown in our beloved South Africa.

Worldwide we grieve the terrible loss of life that has been experienced across so much of the world. And now, the cost of these lives has brought us to this place. Lockdown.

Strange times arn't they? Never in a million years would we have envisioned this scenario...except in movies or in books...yet here we are.

Even stranger though is that I feel totally at peace. In the midst of it all, a sense of rest pervades the atmosphere. Do you feel it?

The loud insistent voices of our own pursuits are becoming still and in the stillness...in the vacuum that is left behind...many of us find ourselves on unfamiliar ground...but somehow...it feels just right. We exhale...and inhale deeply of this new stillness. It is good for our soul...

A time of re-evaluation has arrived...there's an unknown bend in the road of our life...and the light seems to call us forward.

For the first time in a very long time, mankind is looking up...

Everywhere, prayer is arising...and that is a wonderful thing. Our hearts and minds are turned toward the Eternal Creator and our requests are arising before the great "I AM" like incense before His throne.

I will lift up my eyes to the hills...From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth (Psalm 121:1-2).

It is a interesting thing that fear, a puppet master that likes to control and manipulate mankind and that is the enemy of our faith, has unwittingly become the servant that is leading us back to the foot of the throne of God.

And as we reach toward a loving God...we open the door of our hearts once more and invite Him in, the Master storyteller, the author and the finisher of our faith. The only One who has ALL power and ALL authority, the One who IS unconditional love, the One who has shown us abounding mercy and grace, again and again, the One who knows how many hairs are on our head, what the thoughts, the intents and the purposes of our hearts are and still loves us...the One who pursues us relentlessly but who will never force Himself on us...instead He waits...The One who could eliminate us in a nanosecond...waits for the day that we will return...the prodigal son whom He loves.

We're coming home Father...

May you come to know just much He loves you and may a new hope arise in your heart,

From my heart to yours,

xxx

Sylvia.
