Genesis 1:26-27 And God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness: and let them have dominion over the the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in His own image, in the image of God, He created him; male and female He created them.
What an astounding truth...we were created in the image of God and the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit! We were created to be a reflection of God! That is our capacity! Amazing...
Have you ever really thought about that? One of the thoughts that came to mind for me was...
God is unlimited... so surely then, as His image, we too are actually...unlimited.
Why then are we not living this unlimited life?
I was watching a little fly in my living room one day, frantically flying in one direction briefly, then turning and heading in another direction. Repeating the same sort of pattern, it never ventured very far but flew about in a very definite, boxed in area. It had the entire lounge to fly about in, but it kept darting up and down in the same hexagonal little space.
Whilst I was watching, God revealed to me that exactly the same thing was happening in our lives.
From the time that we are born, other people's boundaries and limitations are pressed into the design of our lives.
Experiences both good and bad leave imprints upon our confidence that either hold us back or expand our vision for our lives.
We, through opinions, whether it be our own or the opinion of others, have become boxed in because of our thinking, stuck in this little imaginary space that we accept as truth, we are darting from one confine to another... held captive by the familar not even aware that there is a bigger picture.
The devil is very effective in stripping us of positive expectations and self confidence Or distorting the real truths.
Sadly, we will never become more than what we believe...UNLESS...our mind is renewed and our thinking changes.
Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Ephesians 4:23 And be ye renewed in the spirit of your mind.
Remember, no man or woman, or any negative experience has any power to define who you really are or who you are destined to be! There is only one who created you, the One who has the schematics for your life, who knows how He has designed you, knows your purpose and your call and He is the Eternal Creator. He is your God and your Father, He loves you unconditionally and no matter how many times you fall, He will be the one to pick you up and whisper hope once more into your bruised soul! He is calling you forth into His story for your life...
Refuse to accept anything that speaks of failure because you were created to reflect Almighty God! Refuse to accept the lies that the devil has tried to write into your story. Jesus is the author and the finisher of your faith! You matter! You have great purpose! Arise!!!
