Metamorphosis

Metamorphosis...Also called transformation.

A change in the form and often habits of an animal during normal development after the embryonic stage.

Metamorphosis includes, in insects, the transformation of a maggot into an adult fly and a caterpillar into a butterfly and, in amphibians, the changing of a tadpole into a frog.

Do you remember those days when as a child you were the proud owner of a shoe box full of silkworms?

With great trepidation I would have to go down the pathway to knock on the door of neighbouring houses to find mulberry leaves in order to feed my silkworms.

We would cut cardboard into heart shapes and place them in the shoe box and every day you would lift up the lid to see what your silkworm community was doing. Had they started to spin yet? If one of them had started to spin around one of your heart shapes, you would be the proud owner of a golden heart spun in the finest silk threads.

Eventually each little silkworm would spin a cocoon around itself and the next stage of transformation had begun for them.

Then finally came the day when you lifted the lid and a beautiful white moth had emerged. These little moths would mate and the female would lay eggs and the whole process started again.

Incredible really, the whole process of that transformation…

In much the same way though, everything around us is really in the midst of transforming from one shape or form into the next and the same holds true for us.

Life is about change and about growth. From the day that we are born, we begin the journey of transformation, physically, mentally and spiritually.

God created everything in seed form with the potential to evolve into something greater and better.

That is true of the individual and it is true of our nation.

The past is in the past, we can learn from it to improve how we do things today and in so doing improve our future.

May we see with clarity the path that God has planned for us, knowing this one truth…

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

You were born for such a time as this. There is a reason that you are here…in South Africa. It is God who decides when, where and why. What do you have within you that will add value to South Africa and ALL its people? Your life matters!

From my heart to yours,

XXX

Sylvia.
