Born to be free

As I continued to read, the words came to life and opened up a truth in my soul that resonated deep within my spirit. I lifted my eyes and continued to walk down the road that had been revealed to me. Such depth and such truth…

I could “see” the revelation that the author Rick Joyner was experiencing.

In his book, “The Vision”, Rick found himself standing in a large prison yard. Huge walls, hundreds of feet high extended as far as he could see. Every few hundred feet there were guard towers along the top of the wall.

Everywhere in this dreary and dark atmosphere, people stood and sat in little groups of their own kind. They all had deep wounds and scars.

When Rick approached an old man to find out why they were all in prison, he was astonished and declared that they were not in prison. When Rick pointed out the fences and the guards, the man replied, “what fences and what guards?”

When Rick approached the guards to find out why these people were in prison, the guards likewise had no idea what Rick was talking about.

After questioning a number of the guards, Rick came to realize that these guards were actually different types of leaders, ministers, teachers, writers, philosophers, politicians and the like who through the power of influence had brought people into captivity in their soul realm.

They were trapped by the thinking that they had come into agreement with and were unable to escape the prison of their belief. It had become their truth and they were no longer looking for a deeper understanding.

Suddenly, that scripture in the bible in Proverbs 23:7 came to mind, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.”

Mahatma Gandhi had this to say, “Your beliefs become your thoughts, your thoughts become your words, your words become your actions, your actions become your habits, your habits become your values and your values become your destiny”.

Very wise words and if I may, I would just change one thing about this statement and it would be this:

Your thoughts become your beliefs, your beliefs become your actions…

The more time you spend meditating on a thought, the more that thought will become a belief and it will impact what you do.

My prayer would be that you and I would take cognizance of our thought life. If it breeds division, contention, hatred or any such thing it has the ability to hold us captive and ultimately to destroy the dream that God has for us.

We were born free, let’s strive to remain free…

From my heart to yours,

xxx
